INTERNATIONAL CALL FOR SOLIDARITY WITH THE VENEZUELAN PEOPLE
LAUNCHED BY ACTIVISTS AND ORGANIZATIONS FROM 59 COUNTRIES
    Yankees, get out of Venezuela!
    ● The US military aggression against Venezuela is a new stage in the generalised war.
Trump intends to impose the dictatorship of Wall Street finance capital by any means
necessary. Trump has made no secret of his desire to restore the control of US
multinationals over Venezuela’s vast oil reserves. Claiming to transform Venezuela
into a US dominion, he has sent a warning to the peoples of the world: the law of
imperialism will not respect any national sovereignty.
    ● It is the duty of the labour movement to stand alongside the Venezuelan people. In
a statement, echoed by the American trade union federation AFL-CIO, the
International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) and the Trade Union Confederation
of the Americas (TUCA) “strongly condemn the military aggression of the United
States and the violation of Venezuela’s sovereignty”. They affirm: “The use of
military force and the incursion into the territory of a sovereign nation is an
unacceptable act of war (...) We reject any attempt at regime change by force or
foreign interference” and demand “the release of President Nicolás Maduro and his
wife, Cilia Flores, as well as any other citizens detained in connection with this
    illegal operation.”
    ● Workers know that this imperialist war of plunder against Venezuela will only
strengthen the “war within” waged by capitalist governments around the world
against the working class and democratic freedoms.
    ● The solution will come neither from capitalist governments nor from the UN,
which, a month ago, legitimised Trump’s shameful “peace plan” for Gaza. The
solution will come from the mobilisation of workers and their organisations, of the
peoples of the world, in solidarity with the Venezuelan people. We urgently call for
the forging of the broadest possible united front of the labour movement in solidarity
with the Venezuelan people, both internationally and in each country.
    Stop imperialist intervention !
    Withdraw US troops !
    Stop the bombings !
Free Maduro and his wife !
    Stop all ground intervention !
No to the plundering of resources that belong to the
    people of Venezuela !
